Volunteer carrying out office work for Argyll Wildlife

Here at Argyll Wildlife we have a great team of volunteers.

Many people enjoy doing something for conservation or giving us a helping hand with computer-based or practical jobs. Where better to start than your local wildlife centre?

If you have a skill you would be willing to share, a passion for Argyll’s temperate rainforest or a keen eye for spotting beavers in the rain, we’d love to hear from you.

There’s no need to commit to lots of hours - any time you can give is useful.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We welcome volunteers who can:

  • interact and chat with the public

  • help with maintenance jobs around the centre

  • assist with guided beaver walks

  • support with one-off events such as summer festivals

  • provide specialist skills such as carpentry and IT

We also value self-starters who are able to spot the many things we need help with or could be doing better!

STUDENT INTERNSHIPS

We also offer placements for university students as part of their degree studies. These can vary in length and provide experience in environmental education, community engagement and wildlife conservation. Previous interns have been a huge help to us and have brought an array of skills to the team. Please note that students are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transport, though we can advise on available options.
