ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Bringing wildlife, habitats and ecology to life for learners from pre-school to postgraduate level

Our main charitable remit is environmental education.

Our education work covers all ages and includes pre-school, school, home-school, college, university and other community groups. We work regularly with most of the primary schools in the local area, host university field trips, and run sessions for our local Scout and other community groups.

We can visit your school or group to offer activity based structured sessions, in your classroom/meeting space or outdoors in the grounds of your building.

We can deliver presentations and talks to your group at your meeting space. We also welcome classes/groups to visit our centre in Knapdale and offer guided group walks around the beaver and Celtic Rainforest habitats.

    School/group sessions

Tailor-made sessions in the classroom, outside at your site or while visiting ours, or at our marine partner sites can be made to suit your area of interest, learning level and timing.

    Field trips

We are very happy to host field trips at our visitor centre and take groups on a tour of Knapdale’s beaver wetlands. Whether it is a staff away day, or to complement a university course, we can arrange an itinerary to suit your group’s interests.

WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP

We also work closely with other local charitable organisations on their education remit. We deliver sessions with school groups to monitor native oysters restored to Loch Craignish by Seawilding, and have developed a combined classroom ecology and seashore exploration session with Argyll Hope Spot.
